Q: "What kind of life do you want?"

 A: "An interesting one."

I’m a writer with more than 15 years of professional experience, a lifetime of creative inspiration and a passion for storytelling.

It all comes down to the story; whether I’m chatting with people, watching on the screen, performing on the stage or writing for the page. I understand how to tell a clear, compelling narrative that speaks to the audience, the business and the platform.

As a writer, I love language, words and sentence construction. I’m also a content strategist, producer, communicator, collaborator,  a super-fan of The WB’s late-1990s television programming (e.g., the prosaically verbose Dawson's Creek, the rat-a-tat gabbing on the Gilmore Girls, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer's playfully subversive lexicon). I get excited about complexity, strategy, word-choice and punctuation.

When it comes to the story experience, I work as hard to create the perfect wording for something consumed by the eyes as I do to craft the perfect cadence for spoken delivery. Whether it's UX copy, journalism or creative writing, I weave ideas and intention into engaging, tangible content.

My writing philosophy is simple:
Tell the story that wants - needs - to be told ... then try not to get in its way.

A former features writer and news reporter, I currently work in tech as a user experience copywriter and content strategist. I have a Masters in Media Studies from The School for Public Engagement at The New School in NYC and an undergraduate degree in Editorial Journalism and Communications from the University of Washington. I live in Seattle with my goofball pets and a ridiculous amount of "how-to" books.

Sarah has a strong skill set that ranges from copywriting and editing to user experience, graphics, and project management— across online, print, or mobile. She is very talented. Above all, she has the best personality and is always positive and willing to take on any task with a smile.
